Highlights from E3 Day 1

E3 is the biggest convention in Video Games, all of the world’s biggest publishers, and developers are ready to show off their new creations to all of us gamers. Lots of things happened today at E3 but I’m going to try and pick the most important subject from each of the big 4 Conferences today from Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft, and Sony.

Microsoft

Today was all about Smart Glass for Microsoft, it is what is going to finally pull together everything Microsoft. Internet Explorer is going to come to Xbox, and will be allowed to be controlled via your  tablet, or Windows Phone.

You will be able to play games like Madden where you can create your own plays. When you are watching your favorite shows you can get info and cool little dots of information pop up on your phone or tablet!

Project Glass will only act as a seconary screen though, for usage as a map, or selection screen, unlike Nintendo’s want to use the Wii U gampad to actually play games.

Smart Glass is looking to be one of the coolest things in games, and I can’t wait to get all of my devices to be streaming together.

EA

Electronics Arts didn’t cause any big noise at E3 this year, out of the 4 presentations this was probably the weakest. But it is still a fantastic Conference, and they announced something that will get the gamers happy.

And that is Sims City! With the new Glass Box feature in Sim City you will be able to build more, analyze me data, and make a better stronger city.

This Sim City to going to focus very heavily on multiplayer, and multiplayer challenges.

A very neat feature is that the choices you make in your city will not only affect your city, but the cities around you. I am not sure if those cities will be computer NPC cities, or other real users.

Ubisoft

Ubisoft had a fantastic showing at E3 this year. With games like Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Far Cry 3, Assassin’s Creed III, and their Wii U usage they wowed gamers. But nothing wowed us quite like the game Watch Dogs

We are still kinda confused and wondering what the actual story is about, or what the main story is. But if you watch the videos it is just a “Wow” game. But the game runs on a new IP that Ubisoft has been working on for 2 years.

You can access peoples “Digital Shadow” which hold all of their information, SSN, Credit Card Number, and Medical History. In the demo we also saw thay the player had control over street lights and all of that fun stuff.

This game looks absolutely fantastic, but we don’t know a date, and frankly are not even sure it will be on this generation of devices.

Sony

No game has ever wanted to make me buy a PlayStation more than the this game, The Last of Us. It is a survival game placed in a run down and pretty much empty city. The players Joel and Ellie are seen walking around in the city until they are attacked. Joel fights them off, but the shooting seems to be secondary in this game behind survival.

Check back tomorrow for coverage of Nintendo’s E3 Conference which we’re very excited about!
