Valve bringing Steam to Linux

Everyone’s favorite digital game distributor Steam has been announced for Linux. Even though this same project was cancelled back in 2o10 it seems Valve is picking this up and running with it this time around. According to the site, Phoronix, it will arrive for Linux users in just a couple of months! Michael Larabel of Phoronix stated this,” Left 4 Dead 2 running natively on Linux…. No Wine library or anything else for “fake” support. This is on an Ubuntu 11.10 installation with the AMD Catalyst Linux driver.”This is a huge move for the game digital distribution world of video games, we may see a slight increase of users using and moving to Linux based software.
